Art education has become another important part of that work. Through teaching and curriculum development, I get to share what I’ve learned while helping students build their own artistic skills. I believe that making art involves more than having a good idea. It takes observation, practice, an understanding of materials and techniques, and the willingness to keep working through a problem. I enjoy finding ways to make those skills accessible to young artists and helping them discover what they can do.

I also work with Hope Creek Studios, where I combine my background in design and studio art with classroom experience to develop art lessons and resources for educators. This work allows me to approach art from several perspectives: as an artist, as a designer, and as someone who understands what it takes to teach a skill and put it into practice.

My education and experiences have helped shape the way I work, but I see learning as an ongoing part of being an artist. I’m interested in continuing to develop my skills, exploring different approaches to making art, and finding new ways to connect visual communication, traditional art, and education.
